The procedure is/was deliberately not obvious because I don't
think that multiple db support in rpm is any kind of feature that
is worth advertising or supporting.

I still don't think a feature.

The primary goal of a package manager is installing content
on the file system, not converting metadata amongst multiple
types of databases "just to see what happens".
