The eventual usage case is a generally useful symbol store, as rpm
moves beyond macros (with bsearch(3)) into more complicated
metadata stores using YAML, XML, ELF/Mach-O symbols, etc, etc.

I'm really fond of the macros implemented by Drepper in elfutils, nice
and sweet and functional and ...

But that might just be my fetishism speaking.
