First of all, thanks for your hints. I ran the proposed command and got alot
of binaries/libraries:

/usr/bin/rpmconstant
/usr/lib/librpm-5.0.so
/usr/lib/librpmbuild-5.0.so
/usr/lib/librpmdb-5.0.so
/usr/lib/librpmio-5.0.so
/usr/lib/rpm/db_archive
/usr/lib/rpm/db_checkpoint
/usr/lib/rpm/db_deadlock
/usr/lib/rpm/db_dump
/usr/lib/rpm/db_hotbackup
/usr/lib/rpm/db_load
/usr/lib/rpm/db_printlog
/usr/lib/rpm/db_recover
/usr/lib/rpm/db_stat
/usr/lib/rpm/db_tool
/usr/lib/rpm/db_upgrade
/usr/lib/rpm/db_verify

So I guess something really went wrong. Can you tell from my configure line?
There are no further modifications done in my spec file, no patches,
nothing else.

I didn't, the documentation in the source package only states that it is not
recommended to build against a stock bdb.
